Top self-catering holiday homes near UK music festivals

If you fancy spending a few days at a festival this summer you are spoiled for choice with a multitude of options throughout the UK. Whether you want to see your favourite music act, a top comedian, a spot of drama or all three combined, there will be an event to suit your tastes.

Now many people can’t enjoy a festival unless they are camping on site out in the wilds, even if it means tramping through heavy mud after a rainstorm.

Others prefer a bit of a comfort at the end of the day, somewhere warm and welcoming where they can relax a short stroll, drive or taxi ride away.

For those people we have put together some options for self-catering holiday homes close to five popular festivals:

Latitude, Suffolk (July 18-21)

Southwold is a lovely place to host this festival, at Henham Park, where Eddie Izzard, Bloc Party and Kraftwerk are due to appear. Beautiful coastal views and rumoured- to-be the best fish and chips in England are among the town’s many attractions. There is also some stunning holiday accommodation available for short break holidays in Suffolk.

Rhythmtree World Music, Isle of Wight (July 19-21)

You can camp on site at this festival of performers from around the world but you might prefer to stay in comfort close by in accommodation available for short break holidays in the Isle of Wight. There is plenty to explore on the island after you have seen the likes of Dele Sosimi and Ginger Baker perform.

Tribfest, East Yorkshire (August 15)

Billed as the summer’s largest tribute band festival, Sledmore House is the place to see performers such as The Clone Roses and Musest. Away from the music, there are some lovely towns in that part of East Yorkshire and lots of self-catering lets in or close to York, which is a short car journey from the festival.

Sundown, Norfolk (August 30 to September 1)

It’s known as a sleep county but it will be far from it once Rita Ora, Jessie J and JLS begin blasting out their tunes in the heart of Norfolk. The event is based at the Norfolk Showground and if you fancy staying in comfort while you are there then check out the self-catering cottages near Norwich which are available to rent nearby.
