Trip to Greenwich London

For anyone holidaying in London or Essex (just east of London) on England, I would recommend a riverboat trip down the Thames into the heart of London. This has to be one of the most interesting and comfortable ways to see the sights of London. Most of the Thames tourist cruises offer a running commentary on the buildings on either side of the river whilst you sit, sip a coffee and enjoy the views.

I love guided tours, It doesn’t matter whether they take place by boat or on foot, a knowledgeable guide can bring history to life and explain why things are the way they are. London’s Open House days are another unmissable event and I would encourage all tourists who plan to be in London during mid September to look this up. There is the opportunity to tour numerous buildings in London that are not normally open to the public.  The Open House Weekend is a photographer’s dream, to be able to go to the top of London skyscrapers and take almost aerial photographs.

There are few cities as fascinating, with so much to see as London. Impressive museums around the capital such as the British Museum, Science and Natural History all have free entry. That has to be a big reason for tourists to visit Britain.
